The Everest Base Camp Trek is a journey on the foothills of Everest filled with adventure in addition to breathtaking mountain scenery.
The route to the basecamp is filled with ridges and well known trails carved with Buddhist prayer stones that lead towards the colorful villages of Sherpa people located at soaring altitudes. The trek starts at Lukla and as we move to the upper regions we can experience the lush hills, splendid forests filled with rhododendrons and the amazing hospitality and culture of Sherpa people. The point of interest of this trek is the amazing city of Namche Bazar (3440M), gateway to the high Himalaya and remote mountain monasteries and culture. The beauty of this isolated region cannot be explained in words. Note:
There are two ways to complete this trek. One is trekking from Lukla to Everest Base Camp via Dingboche and the other is via Gokyo Valley. The trek via Gokyo valley takes longer to complete. Gokyo valley offers spectacular views of the mountain peaks such as Everest, Lhoste, Makalu, Cho yu and the Ngozumpa Glacier, largest glacier of Nepal’s Himalayas. Dingboche is a beautiful Sherpa village which provides excellent mountain scenery. It is famous among trekkers who are travelling to the base camp as they rest a day at Dingboche for altitude acclimatization.

Arrival in Kathmandu(1345m)
Upon your arrival at Tribhuwan International Airport in Kathmandu, our airport representatives will extend a warm welcome to you. Following this, you will be transferred to your hotel via a private tourist vehicle.

Trip meeting followed by valley sightseeing
The morning after your arrival, Goreto will host a pre-trip meeting at your hotel to introduce your guide and provide essential trip details, including legal formalities. Following the meeting, we'll embark on a day-long sightseeing tour of the valley, exploring UNESCO World Heritage Sites such as Boudhanath Stupa, Pasupatinath Temple, and Durbar Squares, accompanied by a private vehicle and expert guide. Immerse yourself in Nepalese culture, encounter holy figures, delve into history, and marvel at architectural wonders.

Kathmandu to Lukla flight(2840), then Lukla to Phakding trekking(2610m)
After a delightful half-hour flight from Kathmandu to the town of Lukla in the Everest region, our trek to Phakding commences. Your guide and Sherpa porters will handle all arrangements for your luggage and equipment. The initial part of the trek involves descending towards the Dudh Koshi river, before proceeding to Phakding. With the altitude at around 2,500m, today's trek is leisurely, allowing ample time to savor the breathtaking scenery of the surroundings.

Trek from Phakding to Namche Bazaar(3440m)
This day marks our ascent to Namche Bazaar, renowned as the Gateway to Everest. Along the way, we traverse the Dudh Koshi river via intricately adorned trail bridges adorned with fluttering Buddhist prayer flags. We pause to appreciate the significance of Sagarmatha National Park, learning about its role in preserving the region's ecological and social balance while fostering sustainable tourism. The journey to Namche is richly rewarding, offering encounters with a vibrant market, indigenous culture, and awe-inspiring vistas of the Himalayas from up close.

Acclimatization at Namche Bazaar
To acclimatize to the increasing altitude and thinner air pressure, we dedicate this day to resting in Namche Bazaar. The town boasts a wealth of attractions, including a renowned museum chronicling Everest expeditions and Sherpa lifestyles. We'll immerse ourselves in the local culture, observing the daily routines of the predominantly Sherpa community. If time allows, we may opt for a hike to the nearby decommissioned Syanboche Airport for breathtaking views of the Everest Panorama.

Trek from Namche Bazaar to Tengboche(3860m)
After acclimatizing in Namche, we proceed towards Tengboche, renowned for its iconic Tengboche Monastery. Trekking along the trails and Dudh Koshi River, we're treated to picturesque mountain vistas. Upon reaching Tengboche, we delve into the monastery's enchanting ambiance, adorned with a grand Buddha statue and intricate decorations. Witnessing monks in traditional attire conducting sacred ceremonies adds to the spiritual experience. From Tengboche, we're rewarded with awe-inspiring panoramic views of the Everest region, truly encapsulating the majesty of the world's highest peaks.

Trek from Tengboche to Namche Bazaar
Following the breathtaking Everest panorama, we trek back to Namche at an elevation of 3,441m, completing a five-hour journey. We'll spend the night here, soaking in the charm of this vibrant mountain town.

Trek from Namche Bazaar to Lukla, via Phakding
We bid the mountains farewell as we head to Lukla via Phakding, our original starting point for trekking. We are able to cover more distance on our way back because the route is mostly a descent and at a relatively lower altitude, our lungs get more oxygen and hence, energy. Once in Lukla, the evening is free for leisure activities. We’ll celebrate our success with a few rounds of drinks and some traditional dancing with the locals.

Lukla to Kathmandu flight
Today, we embark on a scenic flight from Lukla back to Kathmandu, treating ourselves to breathtaking aerial views of the majestic mountains below. Upon arrival at Kathmandu airport, you will be transferred to your hotel by our dedicated Hike Himalyaa staff in a private vehicle, ensuring a comfortable and seamless journey to your accommodation.

Leisure day and farewell dinner in Kathmandu
Today is a day for rest and reflection, offering the opportunity to unwind after the trek. You can indulge in leisure activities such as souvenir shopping, spa treatments, or further exploration of the city. Additionally, you may choose to extend your adventure with activities like bungee jumping, rafting, or an Everest mountain flight. In the evening, you are invited to a farewell dinner at a traditional Nepalese restaurant, where cultural performances will enhance the experience.
