Mardi Himal Base Camp Trek is a newly established trek route in Nepal, so it’s a less crowded tea house trekking that offers a great close up view of Annapurna Base Camp, the Annapurna and Fishtail range with Pokhara valley and Phewa Lake. Mardi Himal Base Camp Trekking is a fantastic short and spectacular treks of Annapurna region nearby Pokhara valley. The highest point of this trek is 4500m but the highest point where we stay overnight is 3580m at High Camp. The highlights of this trek are Macchapuchhre also known as Fishtail(6993m), Annapurna South (7010m) and Mount Hiunchuli (6441). Our journey in Nepal begins today. A Goreto representative will be waiting for us at the airport. He/she will then drop us off at our hotel where we can take a rest. In the evening we can enjoy a welcome dinner hosted by Goreto. During the dinner we can enjoy Nepalese cuisine which will introduce us to the country’s food culture.
Drive by tourist bus, it takes 5/6 hours and then take a private cab drive for an hour to Kade and trek for 1 and half hours to Australian camp. The best view point of sun rise and the panoramic Himalayas view. Stay night at Guest House there.
Breakfast and enjoy the view of the Himalayan Peak and trek for 10km takes 5/6 hours through forest past Pothana and Pitam Deurali.
Breakfast and Trek to High Camp for 7 km, it takes 6 hours uphill walk.
Breakfast and trek to Mardi Himal Base Camp, enjoying the views and trek back to low camp for overnight stay.
Breakfast and downhill trek to Kade via Australian Camp, it takes 6/7 hours downhill trek and drive back to Pokahra by private car or bus. O/N at Hotel in Pokhara.
We fly to Kathmandu in the morning. After landing at the airport, we will be dropped off at our hotel in the city. Soon after we reach the hotel we will take some rest for about an hour or so then we will tour UNESCO World Heritage Sites today. These sites highlight Nepal’s cultural and religious heritages. Our first stop will be Kathmandu Durbar Square which showcases Kathmandu’s rich architectural prowess during the Malla dynasty (c1201–1769),and then Swayambhunath Stupa which tourists commonly refer to as the ‘Monkey Temple’ owing to a large number of the monkey population in the vicinity. Rest of the day we can spend by taking the much needed rest or catch up on some last minute shopping. Either way, we mark the end of our successful trip with a farewell dinner hosted by Goreto where we can share our experiences of the trek before flying back home the next day. Overnight in Kathmandu.
Our trip to Nepal ends today. We will be dropped off at the airport by a company representative 3 hours before the scheduled flight.
We will be staying at standard hotel in Kathmandu, and in Pokhara and teahouses during the trek. All accommodations are on twin-shared basis. Single supplement will be served on request and will cost an additional amount. We will have rooms with attached washrooms in most parts of the trek but this is not possible in a few remote locations. Also understand that single rooms are not easily available in higher elevations like they are in Kathmandu and the lower elevation regions.
All meals will be provided during trekking while only breakfast will be available in Kathmandu and Pokhara. There will also be welcome and farewell dinners for guests. The most common cuisines in most menu will be Nepalese, Tibetan, Indian and the more common continental.
Mardi Himal Base Camp Trek is a moderate trek suitable for trekkers who can walk at least 6-7 hours a day with a light backpack. No technical skill is required. Anyone who is physically fit with good health can participate in this trek. However, it is always best to start jogging and exercising regularly at least a month before the actual trek. Also, trekkers who have had experiences with high altitude trekking will find this trek relatively easier than others.
Autumn (Sept. to Nov.) and Spring (March to May) are the best seasons for this trek. The weather is sunny and warm with outstanding views. If you wish to avoid crowds and enjoy some alone time with nature, then taking this trip during winter (Dec., Jan., Feb.) could also be an option
